Accept the Contract
Review and accept the written proposal and required agreement documents.
Applicant provides: Review the proposal, confirm the scope and authorized contacts, then sign the applicable engagement and confidentiality documents.
Halal Watch reviews: Halal Watch confirms acceptance and establishes the protected working relationship for proprietary information.
Expected output: An accepted written engagement with a documented scope, terms, and confidentiality requirements.
Submit Your Down Payment
Complete the initial payment required by the accepted written proposal before certification work begins.
Applicant provides: Pay the initial amount stated in the accepted proposal through the approved payment method.
Halal Watch reviews: Halal Watch confirms the payment and completes the engagement setup needed to begin certification work.
Expected output: The certification engagement is active and the applicable document and scheduling requirements are provided.
Submit Documents for Pre-Audit Review
Provide the product, supplier, process, sanitation, traceability, labeling, and facility records requested for the approved scope before the audit.
Applicant provides: Provide complete product lists, formulations or specifications, supplier evidence, flow charts, sanitation records, traceability information, and labels relevant to the scope.
Halal Watch reviews: Halal Watch evaluates the evidence, identifies gaps, and prepares the audit plan for the approved scope.
Expected output: A documented pre-audit review, resolved questions where possible, and any request for additional evidence before audit scheduling.
Facility Audit
The applicable audit activity verifies how the documented halal controls operate within the proposed scope.
Applicant provides: Provide the access, records, responsible staff, and production or operating context identified in the audit plan.
Halal Watch reviews: The auditor observes receiving, storage, production, sanitation, segregation, traceability, packaging, and labeling controls relevant to the scope.
Expected output: An audit record documenting conformity and any findings or corrective evidence required before a decision.
Receive Your Certificate
After the required review is complete, certificate issuance occurs only when the applicable requirements are satisfied for the approved scope.
Applicant provides: Resolve remaining findings and complete the requirements stated in the agreement and certification process.
Halal Watch reviews: An authorized reviewer evaluates the application, document review, audit record, and corrective evidence rather than issuing a decision during the walkthrough.
Expected output: When approved, a Halal Watch certificate identifies the certified products, activities, facilities, and applicable term.
